Description:
Responsibilities:
•Develop and review fire safety strategies and life safety systems for projects, ensuring compliance with SBC, NFPA, and international standards.
•Prepare fire safety reports, evacuation plans, and cause-and-effect matrices.
•Review architectural, mechanical, and electrical designs for fire safety compliance.
•Conduct inspections and testing of fire safety systems, including alarms, sprinklers, smoke control systems, and emergency lighting.
•Perform GAP analyses and recommend corrective actions for existing buildings.
•Train teams on safety protocols and ensure contractor safety compliance.
•Create and update internal safety programs and procedures.
•Obtain approvals for fire safety system designs from regulatory bodies such as Civil Defense, MODON, and GACA.
•Oversee project handovers to ensure adherence to fire safety requirements.
•Collaborate with architects, engineers, and contractors to integrate fire safety systems into designs.
•Use fire modeling software (e.g., FDS, Pyrosim) to predict fire spread, heat release, and smoke behavior.
•Conduct evacuation simulations to ensure safe egress for all occupants.
•Prepare BOQs, technical specifications, and commercial proposals for fire safety systems.
•Maintain records of fire safety designs, inspections, and compliance reports.
•Estimate material, labor, and installation costs for fire protection systems while maintaining budget efficiency.
•Ensure designs meet local, national, and international fire safety codes and standards (e.g., NFPA, IBC, UL, BS).
•Work with regulatory bodies, fire marshals, and inspectors to pass design reviews.
Requirements:
•Bachelor's Degree in Fire and Safety Engineering or a related field.
•8-10 years of experience in fire safety engineering.
•Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
•Expertise in fire safety systems, fluid dynamics, electrical engineering (for alarm systems), and building construction.
•Proficiency in fire safety regulations, including NFPA, IBC, SBC, OSHA, and local standards.
•Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and specialized fire protection design tools.
•Strong problem-solving skills, especially for unique fire safety challenges in hospitals, high-rise buildings, and industrial plants.
•Effective communication skills to collaborate with teams and stakeholders.
•Experience in inspection, testing, and maintenance of fire safety systems.
