Description:
We are seeking a highly experienced and dynamic Head of Engineering Department with over 15 years of experience in the real estate development industry. The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading and managing the engineering department, ensuring the successful delivery of all engineering aspects of our projects. This role requires a strategic thinker with a strong technical background, exceptional leadership skills, and a proven track record of managing large-scale projects.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Leadership and Management:
- Lead, mentor, and manage the engineering team, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Develop and implement strategic plans for the engineering department in alignment with the company’s overall objectives.
- Oversee the recruitment, training, and professional development of engineering staff.
2. Project Management:
- Ensure the successful planning, design, and execution of all engineering projects, from concept to completion.
- Collaborate with project managers, architects, and other stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
- Monitor project progress, identify potential risks, and implement mitigation strategies.
3. Technical Expertise:
- Provide technical guidance and support to the engineering team and other departments.
- Stay abreast of the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices to ensure the company remains at the forefront of innovation.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, codes, and standards.
4. Budget and Resource Management:
- Develop and manage the engineering department’s budget, ensuring cost-effective utilization of resources.
- Optimize the use of materials, equipment, and labor to maximize efficiency and minimize waste.
5. Quality Assurance:
- Implement robust quality assurance and control processes to ensure all engineering work meets the highest standards of safety, functionality, and durability.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure compliance with project specifications and regulatory requirements.
6. Stakeholder Engagement:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders.
- Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and meetings to enhance its reputation and expand its network.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in engineering, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role within the real estate development industry.
- Proven track record of managing large-scale, complex engineering projects.
- Strong technical background with expertise in construction methods, materials, and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Proficient in project management software and other relevant engineering tools.
- Fluency in English and Arabic is preferred.
