Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Planning Engineer with up to 8 years of experience in the contracting industry. The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning, scheduling, and coordinating construction projects, ensuring that they are completed on time and within budget. This role requires a proactive individual with excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills to manage project timelines and deliverables effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Planning and Scheduling:
- Develop detailed project schedules and plans using industry-standard software such as Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to gather necessary project information and requirements.
- Create and maintain comprehensive project timelines, incorporating all phases of construction.
- Monitoring and Reporting:
- Track project progress and milestones, identifying any potential delays or issues.
- Prepare and present regular progress reports to project stakeholders and senior management.
- Perform critical path analysis and implement corrective actions to mitigate delays.
- Resource Management:
- Estimate and allocate resources, including labor, materials, and equipment, to meet project requirements.
- Coordinate with procurement and logistics teams to ensure timely availability of resources.
- Monitor resource usage and adjust allocations as necessary to optimize project efficiency.
- Cost Control:
- Assist in the preparation of project budgets and cost estimates.
- Monitor project expenditures and compare them to budget forecasts.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement measures to reduce project costs.
- Risk Management:
- Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to address them.
- Maintain a risk register and update it regularly with new risks and mitigation actions.
- Ensure that all project activities comply with relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Stakeholder Communication:
- Maintain effective communication with all project stakeholders, including clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Facilitate regular project meetings to discuss progress, address issues, and coordinate activities.
- Ensure that all project documentation is accurate, up-to-date, and accessible to relevant parties.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Up to 8 years of experience in planning and scheduling within the contracting industry.
- Proven track record of successfully delivering construction projects on time and within budget.
- Proficiency in project planning and scheduling software such as Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project.
- Strong understanding of construction processes, techniques, and methodologies.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
